Writing Poetry

Polliwog Pages now has a set of poetry lessons. Zachoia Cooper is moving steadily through them. She is already proven her poetry skills in her book, You Sing I Sing, which can be purchased on Amazon.

RHYMING RIDDLE
(two rhyming words)

What do you call a pig who has just had a scare?
(answer at bottom of page)

QUATRAINS
(four lined rhyming poerms)

Grass plants, without sun or shade
Personify their name— blade
A little rain hitting the ground
Turns soft green what had been browned.

Do not forget
A soldier applaud.
More than “just a vet”
A gift from God.

CLERIHEW
( a humorous 4-line poem with a real person as its subject )

Chaucer
An author of note is Geoffrey Chaucer
He was known for his biting satire.
Now it is seen as prudent
To read his story-poor students!

(Answer to riddle - a shakin' bacon)
