Serving Jesus

Serving Jesus
by
Zachoia Cooper
(age 15)

What God endured my soul to gain!
Separation, toil, and pain.
Oh why shouldst thou, my soul, refrain
From serving Him?

Speak to my heart, Thou Holy Spirit;
Give my ears your grace to hear it;
May Jesus be my joy, my dearest,
While serving Him.

This is my heart’s deep prayer, desire,
That God would light devotion’s fire
And that my feet would never tire
From serving Him.

Zachoia has published a book of her poems, You Sing, I Sing.
